  • PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function bindtextdomain() in /lib/pkp/lib/vendor/sokil/php-isocodes/src/AbstractDatabase.php:87
  • Failed AJAX request or invalid JSON returned

If you get a message like this:

PHP Fatal Error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function bindtextdomain() in ...

…then your PHP installation is missing support for the gettext extension. You need to install or enable it.

 How to Install a PHP Extension Using EasyApache 4

  • Log into WHM as root
  • Type ‘easy‘ into the search field of WHM
  • Click on EasyApache 4
  • Click on the Customize button in the Currently Installed Packages section
  • Then click on the PHP Extensions option from the left
  • In the Search field, type ‘fileinfo‘ to get the extension
  • Now toggle to enable or install the extension
  • Click on the Review option from the left
  • Then, click the Provision button
  • Finally Done to complete the task

Find what the user group ID of Administrator group is by running:

SELECT user_group_id FROM user_groups WHERE context_id=0 AND role_id=1;

It’ll probably give a 1 back as a result. Then, you can grant that to user:

INSERT INTO user_user_groups (user_id, user_group_id) VALUES (278, 1);

where 278 is the user ID, and 1 is the user_group_id.

How to enable clean URLs without “index.php” | OJS

To force OJS to remove the “index.php” of all URLs,

  1. Edit config.inc.php and set “restful_urls” to “On”.
  2. Then enable the “mod_rewrite” module {Learn More] 
    sudo a2enmod rewrite
  3. Then create the “.htaccess” file in root folder and copy and paste the following; 
      <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
   RewriteEngine on
   RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
   RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
   RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [QSA,L]
  </IfModule>
  4. Make file permission of the .htaccess to 644
