How to exclude a specific folder from rewrite rule in htaccess

Add the following line above your rule to exclude a directory (for example, journal) from rewrite rule

RewriteRule ^(journal)($|/) - [L]

To exclude multiple folders, use the following condition above your rule

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/(folder1|folder2/.*)$

OR

RewriteRule ^(folder1|folder2)($|/) - [L]

To exclude all existent directories, you will need to use the following condition above your rule

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

Restore a softaculous backup on a new server

Follow the steps

  • Decompress the .tar.gz backup
  • Find the backupinfo file that named same as the compressed file
  • Open the file to make required changes of softpath, path, softdb, softdbuser, softurl, softdomain

For Example,
Backup file name: wp.26_10029.2021-08-26_23-33-55.tar.gz
Backupinfo file name: wp.26_10029.2021-08-26_23-33-55

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare true_plugins_activate()

  • Fatal error: Cannot redeclare true_plugins_activate()

Cause

Duplicate entry of true_plugins_activate() function

Solution

Delete one of the true_plugins_activate() function in /wp-includes/functions.php

  • Just go to /wp-includes/functions.php
  • Then remove one of the “true_plugins_activate” functions with add_action that are at the end of the file

That’s it!

MySQL database table “in use” problem

  • MySQL table collation suddenly changed to “in use”
  • Unable to login, registration, reset password

Backup database.

Error occurs when you set the connection collation to anything other then the current server collation.

So

  • Repair database (repairing database will fix the “in use” issue)
  • Then change the collation to same everywhere.
  • You may also check the collation in the config file.
