Fix read only fstab

  • “/ etc/fstab” [readonly]
  • can’t edit fstab read only
  • file ‘/ etc/fstab’ is unwritable
  • Repairing fstab (read only /)

If / etc/fstab is correct, you can simply type:

mount -n -o remount /

But if / etc/fstab is wrong, the device name and possibly the type must have to be given too: e.g.

mount -n -o remount -t extX /dev/sdaX /

Where,
extX is your filesystem type
/dev/sdaX is the partition you want to mount

To see all your available partitions just type ls /dev/[sh]d*.

Login to CWP account

  • Go to Server Settings->Change Root Password.
  • Enter your new password; confirm the new password.
  • Click the Change Root Password button.
  • You will see the confirmation message: 
    Changing password for user root.
passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully.

The target principal name is incorrect – Microsoft Outlook

  • The server you are connected to is using a certificate that cannot be verified.
  • The target principal name is incorrect.

Solution:

  • Click on the View Certificate
  • Check the Issued to value
  • Now go to Microsoft Outlook and navigate to: File | Account Setting | Account Setting
  • Select your e-mail account and click on the Change button.
  • Change the values of the Incoming and Outgoing (SMTP) server address so it matches the name on the Certificate. mail.domain.com
  • Click Next and Finish

The warning message should be gone.

How do I set it up?

Before we begin, here’s a high-level overview of how to add DMARC to your DNS.

  • Add your DMARC record into your DNS
  • Select the TXT record type
  • Add the host value (see details below)
  • Add the value information (see details below)
  • Save the DMARC record
  • Validate the DMARC setup (see details below)

Restore a softaculous backup on a new server

Follow the steps

  • Decompress the .tar.gz backup
  • Find the backupinfo file that named same as the compressed file
  • Open the file to make required changes of softpath, path, softdb, softdbuser, softurl, softdomain

Backup file name: wp.26_10029.2021-08-26_23-33-55.tar.gz
