How to enable clean URLs without “index.php” | OJS

To force OJS to remove the “index.php” of all URLs,

Edit config.inc.php and set “restful_urls” to “On”.
Then enable the “mod_rewrite” module {Learn More]
```
sudo a2enmod rewrite
```

Then create the “.htaccess” file in root folder and copy and paste the following;

  <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
   RewriteEngine on
   RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
   RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
   RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [QSA,L]
  </IfModule>

Make file permission of the .htaccess to 644

How to publish journal issue with articles with/without abstract?

Publishing a journal issue with or without abstract of articles.

Create future issue
Create Journal Sections
1. For non-abstract articles
  1. Put Section title, Abbreviation
  2. Review Form: None
  3. Indexing: Do not require abstracts
2. For articles with abstract
  1. Put Section title, Abbreviation
  2. Review Form: None (or as required)
  3. Restrictions: Items can only be submitted by Editors and Section Editors.
  4. About: Omit this section from About the Journal.
Add articles using QuickSubmit or New submission
1. Local file
  1. Put details in Submission Destination, Submission Data.
  2. Save and continue
2. Remote file using DOI
  1. Put details in Submission Destination, Submission Data except uploading Submission file.
  2. Go to setup 4.3 (Identification of Journal Content) and check “Custom identifiers will be used to identify galleys (e.g. HTML or PDF files) for published items.”
  3. Check DOI prefix.
  4. Select DOI suffix to “Enter an individual DOI suffix for each published item. You’ll find an additional DOI input field on each item’s meta-data page. “
  5. Put Additional input in the metadata.
  6. Create remote “PDF” and/or “HTML” with Remote URL
  7. That’s all
Order issue section according to page number.
Publish.
